I only have myself to blame.

I have been playing with my head up my ass! I have been on autopilot resorting back to my donkey days. I mean fuck last night I call off 100BB when I know the only way villian shoves is with a set. Everything said set and guess what he had? A SET! The mistakes have been piling on and bad play mixed with some pretty shitty cards spells disaster. Honestly I dont blame badbeats or anything like that. The cards have been just plain nasty but I should be breakeven this week at worst. Twice I have bluffed into quads last night for 200BB, just disgusting. Ok now some of the tougher hands from today (my day isnt over, looking to turn it around tonight).

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1304930 Villian is 57/14/.65 over only 30 hands though. Honestly I have said time and again that post flop minraises are monsters. Can I check the turn? When he min raises should I pitch it or call and fold if he shoves the river? Or do like I did and shove?

Hand 2: Is this happening again? Sorry couldnt hide results. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1304953 villian is 56/12/.43. Honestly I think I am a fool to bet the turn and when he shoves I have to dump it. Whats your line here?

Hand 3: I might be ill. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1304965 power is 21/12/1.5 and vigilante is 53/15/.62. This was such a sick spot and I hated powers smooth call the most then I get raised. WTF? Can I call? Should I shove?

Firstly Noel, I'm so glad that you've blamed your bad spell on yourself. When I went through a horrible spell about 2 months ago, I blamed it on bad luck and bad cards. The basic fact is most long bad runs are something to do with the player, and the sooner you realise it and take steps to change it the better

Hand 1: This is quite nasty. My first thought was to check the turn behind for pot control and call a river bet. If the river came a spade though it would be sick. From an objective point of view (meaning it wasn't me playing it at the time!), I would say fold. He has a set at worst. There aren't really any worse two pair hands he can have so you've only got 4 outs. You can't call and fold to a river bet, and you can't call a river bet, so I think fold is the right play.

Hand 2: I check the turn probably 95% of the time here - if not more. The draw came in and your A might not even have been good anyway. The only benefit from betting the turn is it got you the information you needed. It's good that you post this because this is a pretty embarrassing hand for you and I think it's good that you don't hide hands like this.

Hand 3: For 300BBs I can probably fold this and find a better spot. Vigilante must have QQ, 99, KK, AA or AdKd I think, and you ain't good against that range. Plus you have Power in the mix too - he's probably on a draw or AQ but it's still a factor that leans towards folding. It's very tough to fold KK here - especially on such a draw heavy board - and I'm not sure how bad pushing would be here. I certainly don't think it would be terrible.

1) I think you're going to have to fold. A guy who plays 57% of his hands is playing a lot of assorted suited crap. Also I like the idea of checking behind for pot control. The guy is passive so you may even end up with a free showdown and you can feel studly for losing as little as possible.

2) This is what happens to me when I go through a bit of a dry spell and I start thinking everyone is playing back at me with junk. He plays more than half his hands so he's playing a lot of suited crap. His aggression factor is low so he aint bluffing. Just ditch it and remember the bit in NLHTAP where it says "Don't justify their optimistic calls." If they call thinking you're going to pay them off if they hit, they're the donkey unless you actually do pay them off in which case you are.

3) I think this is a fold. You three bet and got called by two people other than the original raiser. That right there makes KK shrink a little.

I think here I revert to the theory of not losing a big pot with a small pot hand. You have one pair and are unlikely to improve. You may already be beaten and if you aren't, there are plenty of ways for them to catach up.

If you have specific reads to the contrary it's another story.
