1 down 11 to go

So HM says I worked ~111hrs which is 9 hours short of the minimum I want to work per month. Given all the shit that occurred to create excuses for not working I did pretty well. Unfortunately my results werent where I wanted them to be (enough to cover my required withdrawal) but I am the only one to blame for that.

February is a short month but I plan on nailing 120hrs+. I hope to take some shots at 200NL if my roll and mind is ready too. I will keep you all informed.

Improva

I am glad to report I have signed up for some lessons with Improva and began studying his book. Thus far I am impressed and believe I can get alot out of this adventure if i stay focused and work hard. I have been playing a ton and just avoiding mindless internet time wasting. 32k hands thus far. Should nail about 3-4k before the month ends. results havent been the best due to a little spew creeping in and I feel like I have been on the ugly side of variance this month. TBH I am avoiding results again and it feels good. just focused on improving and playing alot. With volume and no spew and a large % of a game my roll should be ready for some 200s shots mid February as planned.

worked between 18-20 hours this week and will be putting in 6-8 tomorrow and nail 30 by Sunday night.

Boooooooo

Thats how I feel about my 2010 start. I am the only one to blame. Has there been coolers, DUH!!!! Have I made mistakes, DUH!!! Have I lost money where I shouldnt, unfortunately YES! The only thing I am unhappy with is the last. To get to my desired goal I must take control of my destiny and stop giving away my earn. Simple solution.

My biggest leak away from tha tables is how I spend my time. I know I have addressed this before but blog browsing and forum surfing are a huge time drain. I will no longer be reading blogs M-F. My email will be checked once in the mroning and once at night. My drinking has been under control which I am proud of. had me some good beer this evening though so I must end this blog now.

Some fun hands

Villain is 23/15/3 over a large sample. When I flatted I felt like this guy may DB me here given that I rep what I have given stacks. When he checks I decided to actually VB vs his range. When he XR I was baffled and couldnt make sense of it. I tend to fold when that happens but thought better of it here. basically I feel like all of his hands he XR for value simply fire again because of the texture. River actually discounts one of his value hands imo (66) and I make the call. Thoughts are appreciated as always.

Whats new I am behind on hours again. I plan to get in 6-7 tomorrow and Friday and then hopefully make some up on Sat and Sun.

Sick kid

My son is sick again. I love the little fucker to death but ffs can he just be healthy so I can get some work done. It is truly hard to stay with him all day and then be mentally fit for the tables at night. My son demands almsot 100% of my attention when he is home sick and it is a huge change from going through my day mainly in my mental bubble.

I am currently considering a staking deal again though if I do get one I will not be disclosing details or results until the deal is over. I have a hand where it seems like an auto stack off though villain should be nutted a ton imo. Thoughts?

Fell short

Just unexcusable really. I can not stand for less than 30 hours a week. Basically I want to nail 120hrs a month. I will keep up the amount i fell short +30 every week but am going to shoot for the 30 hr mark this week. Basically I have to grind a bit more during the day and at night as well. Football sucked this weekend hopefully next weekend will be better.

Slacker!

Seriously it is disgusting how much I slack off in following through on my hours. I cant explain but for whatever reason I seem to be tired when it is time for my night sessions and I never feel like putting in mad volume though the games tend to be awesome. My plan tonight is to get to bed early in hopes of putting in a solid 3-4 hours tomorrow night. Definitely not on target to nail 30hrs this week plus the 3 from last. Going to look to make up a good chunk on the weekends though and see if I cant earn me some earrings.

On a happy note I started the day off pretty grossly and was beginning to feel myself tilt at which point I quit. Now not only did I quit but I removed myself from my office and reset my state. We are in control of our state at all times and I know this therefore I opted to refocus and get back in a positive state before returning to the tables. It was quite helpful and I am proud of myself for taking control. I returned and played solid aggro monkey poker and managed to own some souls. Anyways I will continue the grind and the blog tomorrow.

Mark I have read Tri's book and initially was very pleased but kinda 2nd guess some of the info after further examination. I think it is worth the read obviously and a good source of study material. Thanks for the comment.

Keep your head down and push forward

Yesterday was yesterday and today is today. All I can focus on is NOW. Today I played my A-game and thanks to my boy Dodgyken started experimenting a bit with some new things. I think somewhere along the journey I forgot some things and my nuts shrunk too. I am definitely focused and playing well. I keep revisiting a Boywonder quote and think its time I start applying the same thing to my game especially if I want to make the transition to 200NL.

"Realizing that most regulars actually were not that solid and didn´t have their own game (most just basically have picked up somebody else’s preflop game that they´ve seen on a training video and have no clue why they are doing what they are doing - postflop they are usually spewy as xxxx). When you start zoning in how to scalp the regs, that´s when you start improving and that´s when you start beating the game for more than 1 ptbb / hour. And the basis for all of this was realizing how much of my game was dependant on playing when in the right emotional state, and learning how to maintain that mindframe."

Last night I realized I just avoid regs for the most part because I have to work a bit harder to beat them. The fact is they have as many leaks as the fish and arent to be feared. With a little time and effort they too can become fish which just makes playing this game that much more fun. Underneath it all I am a competitor and if I never played anyone who gave me a challenge I would be pretty fucking bored.
