Grades.

Well I wanted an A in business and I got it. I wanted an A in Econ but I got a C. Very disappointed I am apparently I scored 60 and 57 on the last two tests which is just fucked. I couldnt believe it I mean I studied my ass off. I guess if I scored that low I got to be happy with the C and just move forward at least I dont have to repeat the course.

Poker is on the up and up with my May total now exceeding 1000 and I have tonight and tomorrow to add to it. There are still a lot of leaks in my game and I am constantly working on improving them. I think that is one thing that makes this a greta line of work for me as every day is something new and exciting and I always have room to grow. If it wasnt for drugs I honestly think I would have had a chance with sports as I have an insanely competitive nature and will to win. Poker allows me to compete and in away is very similar. I think in order to be a top athlete as well as poker player you have to give 100 and 10%. You have to play day in and day out and when you arent playing be thinking of ways to improve. I love it.

Summer school started today and it looks like it should be fine, quite a bit of work but hey at least I dont have to drive to Santa Rosa twice a week for class. I will keep you informed on my performance.

I am back baby

Well today I officially started my good eating habits and will be back in the gym tomorrow. It feels good to be on a schedule again. I will be getting up in the morning and eating breakfast and then doing my online summer class. After that is done off to the gym. Then work time. I think I will split my work day into two sessions of 1000hands each. This will be my Mon-Fri routine.

Well I took Sunday of from poker and have come back strong. Played 1500 hands about and have added 216 to my bank roll. With Rakeback and bonuses included I am sitting at about 1000 for the month. I plan on playing again tonight after I go to my class orientation and I still have Wed and Thur to make a killing and end the month strong. Also I think the healthy eating and excercising will only enhance my poker performance as well as I feel the new monitor has giving me better ability to figure out my opponents. Before I could only focus on one table at a time where as now I can see all five.

Setting a goal.

So the month of May has been a rocky oe at the tables and I havent always performed my best and actually was dumb enough to play Friday night after having a few beers which resulted in a negative $200 session. I wont be making that mistake again. Fortunately I slept it off and made a solid recovery the following morning. I ended this week +127 which should have been +317. Anyways you live and you learn. At the beginning I believed I stated I wanted to make 5000 this month which is looking to be more like 1000 give or take with winnings and rakeback/bonuses. I also was going to try for 1000 hands a day and failed there too. I am currently sitting at 18876 hands for the month. I decided to take Sunday off and will look to end the month with a strong closing week.

Now I want to set some goals for the near future. In June I will play no less then 40000 hands of poker. I am currently playing 25/50cent No-limit and look to move up to .50/1 by monthds end. In order to achieve this I must play my desired hand number get my bankroll to $4000. Also I would like to withdraw $1000 to stick in my bank account for some bills and what not. Basicallky I am looking to have a +$3000 month in June and keep getting better. I will not play after drinking anymore unless it is super micro stakes and I am just looking to have fun. I must also only play when well rested and feel I have an edge. Another problem that has been plaguing me is the tricky play syndrome where I attempt to bluff steal and end up losing a load of chips in the process. This doesnt mean I am done bluffing it just means that they will be better thought out and less frequent.

20 inch monitor

That is right bitches 20inches and balling makes up for my lack of size LOL. Anyways yup just got a monitor so now I can play 5 tables ata a time with no overlap which was driving me crazy. It is kinda weird though because I was actually used to the overlap and how it prompted you to act. I also am experimenting a little with my playing style and hope to be going on a sick tear soon. Played for 2 1/2 hours today and lost another 21 dollars. It is so fun playing all those hands and losing NOT!. I still find myself trying to do things that I dont have to. I try and force a bluff when I can just wait and pick a better spot. This combined with some bad luck has been my downfall as of late but it is about to change. Yall have a great weekend and be safe and I lok forward to posting some big profits soon.

Tough day at the tables

Well slept in today till Noon and then decided I would play some cards and see if I couldnt make some money. Things got off to a tough start and kept rolling that way. I have some new cool links for the no n-poker minded to see how the game plays out and how I win or lose. Here are 3 losing hands from today where I was ahead and lost due to the luck factor and one is where I got lucky but also just played the hand perfect.

So much fun, all you can do is hope to get it all in with the best hand and have it hold up. Obviously this doesnt always happen. Here is my lucky hand.

.I ended up down 5 dollars after all was said and done. I ended my play short because of the badbeats and I was starting to get upset and play bad. I will play some more tonight and hopefully the cards will go my way. I havent been doing much at the gym actually nothing and have decided to post pone the big summer push till after this weekend as this is the all American beer and BBQ and beach weekend. Yeah boy! Ok I have been locked up in my house all day so now I must go outside and breath fresh air.

I like wine.

It is a wonderful beverage and besides the SN summerfest is definately my drink of choice. It makes me feel old though but I am right? Anyways had a fun evening last night, enjoyed some wine at the Luevano house and then got to see Mar vomit again. He is insane with his puking fits. It isnt funny when it happens but afterwards it is quite ammusing. He makes himself puke when he gets upset! Hilarious! Poor dude. Anywho just enjoying my no school action today. Cleaned my house a little and played some cards for about three hours. I made 60 bucks but had the chance to make more but the cards went the wrong way. Twice I got all in with the best hand and the last card beat me. Once it was for a $200 pot which would have been nice to take down. Luckily I ended up splitting the pot and not losing that one. Then again for about $65 the last card made my opponent have two pair to my one. I win those two hands and I am up 250+. Oh well cant win everyone. I am off to shoot some b-ball and might play more later.

Its over!!! Thank you sweet whoever it is over!!!

Yup school, that is till next Tuesday when my summer course begins. At least I will be taking that online so no more setting an alarm clock in the morning. Well, at least not for 7AM more like 9AM. I decided to treat myself to sushi and a beer today for all the study and hard work I did this semster. I know so much for not drinking. Remember I did say special occasions and today is one. Also, summerfest is here, mmmmm summerfest. It is the Sierra Nevada special summer brew, so good. For those who cant stand that bitter after tatse of regular SN this is the one for you. Havent played any cards since Sunday but have been doing a lot of data collecting so I can use it in the future to gain an edge on my opponents as well as find the easiest tables to beat. Also been doing a lot of reading and thinking about the game trying to improve that way also. Believe it or not there is a lot of theory and strategy that can be very edcucational in itself and lead to some mahjpr gains in the win column. I might play tonight but as of this moment I plan on taking a drive to the beach with V and Mar and just chilling. Hope all is good, I will part with an amazing quote. "Dream as if you will live for ever, live as if you will die today." I believe there is more to this but I cant recall. If you have hear this one and know the author and the rest please do tell.

My 1st week.

Here I am world all twentysix years of me. Look at me I can be what ever I want! Ok I have no idea what i am writing. I havent been writing quite nearly enough and I apologize if you have been checking as I know it is a mjaor let down to sign on hoping for some juicy shit and find nothing but the same post from a week ago. Well here you go so fresh and so clean. I am going to make a concious effort to write everyday no matter how short.

In my poker life it was tough week. I started off with a horrible Monday losing 400 and then recovered on Tuesday only to give it back again on the next day. It was a combination of things that led to my 1st losing week since starting this blog. Mainly lack of concentration due to over extending myself. I was trying to play 5-6 tables at once on a 13 inch laptop not cool. I have decidd 3 tables will be my max till I upgrade to a sweet 20inch LCD. Also I kept callling tails and all I was seeing was George fucking Washington. In english I would be involved in coin flips either having the best hand and my opponent would get lucky on the last card or needing to get lucky and not. Hey that is how it goes. Today I did some solid research and have been working on plugging some leaks and feel I have done so. Through table selection and precise decision making I believe the last 10 days of May will be profitable ones. I had set out to make $5000 this month which is still doable but I will need to score big. I am 4500 off the mark. In reality if I can make 2500 I will be stoked as that will pay rent and give me some cash for expenses.

School you ask? Two finals and finito. Yeah boy!!! A and A will be my final course grades (watch for confirmation post). Speaking of that I have a cup of tea and my books waiting so I must run. Please do tune in regularly as the fingers are a going all over the keyboard.

My 26th year.

Well leading up to my b-day I got some horrible stomach problem that has been plauging me, so that hasnt been fun. I have been on a strick diet of nothing sense my b-day trying to fight it. Also, what I really wanted for my b-day was a Warrior win, which didnt happen. But all in all I think it was one of my better birthdays. I had a rad weekend in Monterey with my lovely girlfriend who always tries her hardest to please me (not an easy task just ask her). As my followers are aware I have been dabling in playing online poker as my sole source of income and was on a nice up swing in May till I came unglued yesterday taking a negative 400 dollar loss. Today I bounced back and am only stuck 180 for the week. Poker is like life as there are highs and lows and the strong are able to fight through the bad times and come out ahead.

Now back to the topic. What do I want from my 26th year on Earth? This will be the year that I finally transfer my ass to a four year University, which one I dont know. Sonoma, San Jose, SF, maybe San Luis? I will be applying to several and make my decision when the time comes. Also, as crazy as this sounds I would like to purchase a home this year (not in Orville). I would like to continue my success in poker and work up the ranks to eventually playing 5-10NL by years end with a monthly income of 25000 plus or minus. {Side note this dude is up 500 thousand just this month off of poker, scroll down to the graph http://www.cardrunners.com/fusetalk/blog/index.cfm?forumid=25}. I will continue to refrain from heavy drinking and limit my intake to one or two at major social events. Maintain my health and fitness and reach happiness with my body image. Not that I look bad but I know I can look better. Continue to spend time with my girlfriend and her son and enjoy the fun that we have together. As well as continue to develop family traditions so that we can grow and bond. I know sappy. I expect a lot from this 26th year as you can see and know that everything I want and more is possible with a positive attitude and sheer determination. I forgot that I would also like to be driving a new truck. Brand new Tacoma to be exact.

In conclusion be on the lookout for big updates throughout the year. And may all that you dream of and aspire to achieve take form in your lives. Remember what your parents told you: "You can be anything you want." That shit is true, I believe. GO WARRIORS!!!

Quotes

Something to ponder. "A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone." Henry David Thoreau

For the poker players and skeptics. " Remember this. In order to reach the final tabble of a big tournament, its not enough to get paid off on your monster hands. At least once or twice during the event, you're going to have to come back from the dead." Dan Harrington

It just proves that no matter how great you are a little luck is needed. The more skill you have the less the luck factor is though. On that note I must continue to build my skill and my edge is that I am playing cash games instead of tournaments so even if I lose do to bad luck I am not out.

Gulp, gulp, I am drinking.

Here I sit at 10:31 PM on Tuesday night sipping away on a Negra Modelo. Um, good stuff. Well, not for long. I have vowed to quit. Yup! That is correct, ok well not completely. I will still enjoy a drink for a special occasion such as a wedding, concert, ball game, or any other event that is special. I know, I know sounds like the same old Noel but just wait. (This starts after May 13th so I can enjoy my B-day gosh dang it!)

Oh shit!!! I almost forgot about poker, syke! I have been in the green as of late and staying in the zone. I have stuck to daytime play and am ahead 438 for the week, not so bad for 5 1/2 hrs work. It is so amazing to me how much money there is to be had in the world of poker and gambling in general. Unfortunately most of the major cash is won by the casions and gambling institutions that are capable of taking advantage of the house edge. The beauty of poker is that even thought the house never loses the edge can be beat. Rather then playing against them I am in essence playing for them. They provide me the medium to extract money from the fish that swim in online poker rooms and in exchange I pay them a small percentage of my winnings. Not such a bad deal right?

Then there is school, where to start? Just joking, not so bad only taking two classes. I believe I am currently carrying either low A's or High B's in both my classes with a porject and two finals remaining. I plan on crushing my finals as well as the project and aces both. Thsi summer I will take two online courses and wrap up my sophmore years in the fall. Finally moving forwad to a four year college. So there you have it, my life in a nut shell. Expect more in the coming days. This is where I will lay out the plans for the road ahead. Thanks to my readers and if you are one of them please do comment it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Poker, the 1st week of May.

Away from the table I have been having a kickass time. My father and I have been at all three Warriors playoff games. What an experience. Basketball is in my opinion the funnest sport to watch in person that I have seen. I am yet to experience Hockey or Soccer. At the table has been a tough go of late. Total for the week I am ahead 163 bucks with three wins and two losses. So far it appears that I am a winner during the day and a loser at night. This could be due to lack of concentration or that I am fatigued from the long days. If you arent familiar with playing poker it is not easy. Actually there is a saying around the tables: "Its a hard way to make an easy living." This is true if you arent 100% focused and ready. I have found that I have been making too many mistakes which have cost me a substantial amount of profit. I have been making rushed decisions when I dont need to and I have at times let my emotions become involved. In order to succed it is necessary that I play almost like a robot, allowing no emotion to enter into my decision making and always processing every bit of information before moving forward. That concludes my 1st week at the tables and I look forward to a kickass weekend. Oscar or Mayweather?Who knows but one thing I do know is tomorrow is national margarita day, bottoms up.
