And the sick results! Was stacking donks left and right 23 bb/100 over 850 hands, just sick. I made a recent withdrawal of $600 and my currently my BR stands at 3558 w/$440 in pending bonus as well as 325 of Rakeback which should be in my account no later then tomorrow. It goes to show what positive thinking and practice as well as sheer determination can accomplish. I am no where near where I want to be though and this is only the tip of the iceberg. The mod is amazing, it makes the game so much easier and AP look a million times better. At first I wasnt sure but after three hours of play I have adjusted and it is awesome. Here is a libnk to the mod. I used the black mod which is down below in the thread like 2nd to last. There is no picture it just says how he found glitch and here is the new link. I think the grey table might be nice too.

This hand was just strange. I liked this flop and was feeling like if he raised I might just go with it. After the smooth call I decided to take the free river and see what it brought. Also I thought it might induce a bluff and I was calling almost any blank river. Instead I get there and he check insta shoves. WTF? Villian is 72/18/.9 http://www.pokerhand.org/?1271781

Strange spot. I like your turn check here as he might have a better hand than you. If he's on a better flush draw then the chances of him hitting are lowered as you have the draw too. I'd be surprised if he check-raised the river with the full house as I would've thought he would lead out with it after you checked the turn. I guess 55 is a possibility the way the hand played out. He could also have 76 for the rivered straight or a higher/lower flush.
It really is a nasty spot here so I ran some Pokerstove numbers. It's hard to put these guys on ranges but I put him on 98, 76, 99, 88, 55, 44, and quite a few flush combinations.
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 62.162% 62.16% 00.00% 23 0.00 { Js8s }
Hand 1: 37.838% 37.84% 00.00% 14 0.00 { 99-88, 55-44, AsKs, AsQs, AsTs, KsQs, KsTs, QsTs, Ts7s, 98s, 76s, 7s5s, 98o, 76o }
It gives you a good advantage here so I think the call would be correct. I think his range is probably bigger but it's still going to be a call even if you add in a few more AsXs and KsXs hands (you'd probably need to add more lower flushes too anyway).
Noel how do you install the new mod? I will definitely use that when I play Absolute.
Thanks!
About the hand...I probably bet the turn, but reading Ken's post I like his reasoning for getting to the river and showing it down if you're both on draws and miss. When he checks to you on the river you obv have to bet there...have you seen him make any river check/raises before? From my experience river check/raises at low stakes are usually quite strong...oh man that's a tough decision. I probably call but likely see a full house here.

I like Ken's analysis, but with the opponent, I think the range is just too wide to stove, and with stats like that, it's really difficult for me to even use his betting patterns accurately. I think you played the hand well, but on the river, I would fold to the raise. I actually don't think it's that big a mistake either way, but calling is the higher variance play, plus you will have more chances with him in the BB when you are on the button.
BTW, I tried pinging you back on AIM yesterday, but my network connection at work was up and down all day...not sure if my response came through or not.
Noel,
Good to hear you've found an aesthetically pleasing mod. Must have rough staring at 4-6 of those AP tables at once.
Anyway, on with the hand. Preflop play is standard. With villain playing ~70% of his hands, you cant give a loose passive player much credit for a hand here. On the flop you need to cbet a larger amount. You have a FD, backdoor SD, pair and an over- alot of equity in the pot against a guy playing ~70% of his hands. Against a loose passive you need to bet at least $6 into the ~$8.5 pot. On this board, a loose passive player will probably call your weak cbet from the button with A high. The turn check is the most glaring mistake of the hand. This is a good spot to double barrel. Ill typically double barrel if one of the two conditions present themselves on the turn: 1) the turn card significantly changes the texture of the board (Ill abide by this against any opponent) and 2) if the tun card does not change the texture of the flop (this is ideal against passive players who will call cbets light). So, with a decent amount of equity in the pot,on a turn card that did not change the board dramatically against a loose passive opponent---> bet the turn and bet it strong. Aggression owns. River: Judging by how weakly this hand was played,he could be shoving with alot less than the nuts here. Assuming this, while getting roughly 2:1 pot odds- call.
Hope this was constructive,
Dice
I think against such a huge range, calling is +EV here. If he made a hand, then why check the river after a check/check on the turn? Looks like a donk bluff to me.
I like Dice's analysis, Brystmar notes ftw :D
But more importantly, results?
