I insta quit and really want to break something right now. Poker has been so infuriating for months and I realized another thing that happened at the same time my GF and son moved in. Holdem manger and PT3 were released. Maybe that is my problem. Is my style that easily exploited?

Ok so you are thinking dude whats the big deal just some coolers. You are right. i need to spin some positive from this I guess but it has been so maddening. I am agian in the midst of a losing month and I cant seem to get the ball rolling , it has been this continous up hill battle. The real question isnt why or how but rather what can I do to feel like a winner?

Excuse me...

...your life is waiting is an amazing book. I am half way throuhg my 2nd read of it and I am remebering why I was stoked about it the 1st I read the book. One thing it talks about is just creating good feelings and using that feeling as a way to magnetize what you want. I decided to put it to the ultimate test tonight and I sat in fron tof my comp creating feel good energy for 5 minutes before starting my session. I shit you now the 1st hand of my session was this one. I managed to own myself by not cbetting enough and making a terrible turn decision based solely on HUD but you get the idea I believe. I proceeded to get big pockets preflop and basically catch a sweet run of cards. I managed to also play poorly postflop which isnt fun.

Today was a less then exciting day poker wise and I really felt the old me creeping back in. The old blame my luck rely on cards and basically bot my way through my session. I need to solve this problem. My break even run is my fault and I am the only one who can solve it. The truth is I played a solid session early and was feeling great about poker. Then when I made my way back to the tables in the evening the fish were everywhere and they werent folding/I wasnt connecting which can lead me to become frustrated. When the fish are out the game really does rely on cards or maybe I need to pull my head out of my rear and start raping fools. Anyways one thing I wont allow to happen is negativity, at least not for long stretches. I will be back at it tomorrow.

I could raise the flop but I think flatting is prefered.

Turn: ($42.50, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $28, BB raises to $96, UTG folds, Hero calls $68

I was real fucking confused when villain c/r as it seems like anything strong would have c/r the flop.

BB checks, Hero bets $127.05, BB folds

The river doesnt truly change all that much unless he held AQ or A9 but I was calling and I couldnt believe it when he c/f.

Gut instinct

While watching the Stinger high stakes vid from the CR 1000th he began talking about instinct and what it has meant to his game. I have been a huge advocate of gut instinct and this is a direct quote from that video.

"One major aspect to my poker game is just going with my gut instinct...Often in big pots i just go with my gut and try not to overthink it."

How many times have you known the correct play yet you allowed yourself to convince yourself otherwise based on logic? Then you post the hand and others tell you based on logic that what your gut told you was incorrect. There is something to be said for instinct imo.

Again?

Yes sir!!! I was seated the table where a Bad Beat Jackpot hit. Unfortunately AP has switched the fashion in which it pays out and I netted 2.8k instead of 12.5k. I guess the old cliche beggars cant be choosers works well here. Anyways was pretty sweet to hit again and was a nice boost to my online bank roll. I am now near 60Bi's for 1/2 and have devised a new plan for my poker future. After some discussion with my coach i feel the best path for me is to simply grind out some good money at 1/2 and string together a few winning months at which time I can re access my situation in regards to moving up.

Something else which my title pertains too is my drinking. I enjopy alchol but i definately overdo it and need to take a break. I wont say that I will never stop drinking or never not stop but for now I know saying I am quiting drinking is unrealistic. What I will say is drinking in extreme moderation is my new plan. Also I will only drink when I know I am done with poker for the day. This saturday I had a few beers and then I wanted to play but couldnt. I much rather have not drank and been able to play then vice versa. Basically my plan is to only drink when there is a special occasion and when I do drink to do so in moderation so not to have any grey moments.

Villain is 27/21/2(1.1k) I feel like my 3bet will get a ton of folds and I decide his range his mainly88-QQ when he does call.

UTG raises to $7, Hero raises to $22, 4 folds, UTG calls $15

Flop: ($47, 2 players)
UTG checks,
Hero bets $24, UTG calls $24

Five high is going to have a hell of a time winn ing at SD so i cbet. I size it so that I can DB and possibly jam the river in an attempt to fold out the range I assigned villain.

Turn: ($95, 2 players)
UTG checks,
Hero bets $48, UTG raises to $236.05, Hero folds

I gain some equity but so does villains range. I again size my DB to jam the river but I am thinking I should take my shot at the FD by checking rather then getting blown off it if he CRAI. Thoughts?

Final Pot: $379.05

UTG wins $375.55 ( won +$93.50 )
Hero lost -$94.00

Folding makes money?

Its true! If you make a bad call you lose X therefore folding in the long run actually makes you X. Crazy concept to grasp I know. NOT!!! Seriously I have been making a few too many well I know he has me beat I call calls and it is killing my bottom line. The best thing to take away from this is I am hand reading well. Now it is the old struggle of trusting my reads.

On another note the passion is back. I fucking set my alarm for 7am so I could get up and play today because I have a ton of shit on my plate and I wanted to be sure to get some hands in. I LOVE poker!!!

Given stacks I am not super excited about raising the flop but that being said it might be the best play as it puts an insane amount of heat on the preflop raiser.

Turn: ($60, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, BTN checks

I think I should fire here given my equity?

River: ($60, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $48, BTN raises to $135, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls $87

I think betting is standard and when raised I doubt I ever see anything less then Axcc
