I need sleep

WOW!!! Epic night last night to say the least. I ended up having 3 friends over to watch football on Saturday and my brother showed up as well. We drank beer and had a great time but the real fun began when we decided to walk to the bars down town. It was just good old shenanigans that made for most of the humor. The funniest part of the night was when my brother made a bet with Rob (pictured above on the right) about our waitresses ethnicity and lost. The result was him having to take a prairie fire shot. Rob decided to order 4 shots rather than take one alone. I tryed my best to decline mine but was suckered into it by my brother. The worst part about the whole thing was the bartender had no clue what we ordered and my bro said to make them with Bacardi 151. Also the guy dumped enough hot sauce in each to fill about 1/8th of the shot glass making for a disgusting chase of hot sauce at the end of an already terrible shot.

Evan immediately vomited after taking his shot and rather than spraying the bar swallowed it and made a dash outside. My brothers turn to puke wasnt till around 3am when we arrived home. Rob decided to save his ride on the puke train till sometime in the early AM to shich he has no memory. Unfortunately for me some of the puke did hit my floor but the majority made it outside. The best part was when he called me today and gave me his version. Apparently he panicked and ran for the door in the night and managed to puke all over himself. At that point he decided to go home so he got in his car and began to drive. Wisely 1 1/2 blocks later he pulled over to sleep it off. Unfortunately the prairie fire had taken its toll and he had to shit. With no bathroom near by he dumped in the grounds of the church which he was parked in front of. Completely covered in vomit and drunk beyond recognition he decided to simply pull his pants up rather than make an attempt to wipe. He then went to sleep and woke up at 9am this morning covered in his own vomit and shit. Disgusting yet hilarious.

needless to say i wasnt in the best shape today though I did save my ticket for the puke train. No ride for me yet. Decided to skip the 3 hours I needed for 30 in the week and tie them on to this week. Will be back at it tomorrow. Gym 1st thing after I drop off my son than some study to get the mind working. After that I will nail some hands.

Cliff Notes: Partied hard Saturday, drank a nasty shot which resulted in vomiting and shitting on ones self.

Weakness

Fridays are so terrible if you cant make cards. Just nothing to value bet all night it felt like. I am sure I made mistakes and missed good spots. Whatever I played my best. Still a bit annoying to play with so many droolers and just never get momentum. Next time.

Another fun filled day.

I am truly enjoying myself again at the tables and keeping the stress levels low. Staying focused on note taking and range reading keeps me going. Sessions have been feeling short because I keep so busy typing notes and reading HH. Anyways how about a hand.

My bad!

  • Pre-Flop ($1.50, 6 players)Hero is UTG+1

1 fold, Hero raises to $3.50, 2 folds, SB calls $3, 1 fold
  • Flop ($8, 2 players)
  • cQ c4 hQ
SB checks, Hero checks

TBH I think I should just Cbet even though we dont fold out better yada yada.
  • Turn ($8, 2 players)
  • c8
SB bets $1, Hero calls $1

I call.
  • River ($10, 2 players)
  • c3
SB bets $13, Hero raises to $26, SB raises to $39, Hero calls $13

Here is where I make a mistake. When he over bets he never has anything he will call a raise with that is worse. Therefore this is a call. I told myself I was min raise folding. What happened?

  • Final Pot: $88

  • Hero lost $43.50

Just wanted to shout out to everyone who wished me luck and say thanks! Also thanks for reading and blogging yourselves. For your info I havent had a drink since last Saturday and have been eating good and getting to the gym. My 1st week will be in the books come tomorrow night. Saturday I am going to enjoy football and beer. I think 6days on one off is a solid plan. Actually will do some Saturday AM studies though just to stay sharp.

Booom

My old poker crew has reunited, well 3 of 5 and I am super pumped. We are back in a major way and it has been huge for my game already. I just feel like I am thinking clearer and just have two solid heads to bounce ideas off as well as discuss any and every spot I want.

A huge boredom/auto pilot reducer for me has been note taking. I am becoming a habitual note taker whenever I see a SD pot on the HM previous 3 hand thing.

Anyways I had a solid day at the tables except for two hands I butchered. Kinda disappointed with myself for them. Have to stay solid and make correct decisions. I wanted to post one of the hands because I know you read my blog. Honestly playing against people I talk poker with fucks with me and I really shouldnt. I had coolered villain previously wAAvKK and I know he noticed. He is playing 6 tables and seemed robotic and folded to 3bets a ton. This is my 2nd 3bet.

BB$151.20
  • Pre-Flop ($1.50, 4 players)Hero is SB
  • hK cT
CO raises to $3.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $13.50, 1 fold, CO calls $10

TBH pre is an easy fold. I 3bet because I am a moron.
  • Flop ($28, 2 players)
  • dQ h5 hJ
Hero checks, CO checks

Basically his range is AQ,KQ,AJs& TT+ and I honestly should be check folding. I know to most that sounds ludicrous but it is the truth.
  • Turn ($28, 2 players)
  • s2
Hero checks, CO bets $20, Hero goes all-in $93, CO calls $68

He checks back making his hand look like TT or AJ though I know he is good enough to be disguising his hand. Not sure I like the check fwiw. I really wanted to XF here still but talked myself into jamming. Not much else to say except I suck.
  • River ($209, 2 players, 1 all-in)

  • Final Pot: $209
  • Hero shows
  • hKcT
  • CO shows
  • cJdJ
  • CO wins $202 (net +$100.50)
  • Hero collects $5 (net -$101.50)

Tired

Kinda lost the flow I had over the long holiday break. It will take time but I am sure my body will adjust to little sleep and long hours. I most likely will go back to playing 75min sessions in hope of making it easier on myself to reach 30hrs a week. I have been eating clean and hit the gym two days in a row. TBH diet and exercise are easy for me as long as I flip the switch. Its nailing hands while playing my A-game that will take the most focus.

I feel good at the tables and have felt little twitches of tilt but fought hard to stay in the zone. I have begun talking out loud to keep myself focused on ranges. Here is a fun one where I was able to think through villains range and make a pretty easy hero call.

UTG$120.65
UTG+1$104.10
CO$97.75
BTN$98.29
SB$99.70
Hero$102.50

Preflop is a loose peel but this guy was 29/21 and I cant allow myself to be run over.
  • Pre-Flop ($1.50, 6 players)Hero is BB
  • s9 hQ
4 folds, SB raises to $3, Hero calls $2
  • Flop ($6, 2 players)
  • cA h9 d6
SB bets $5, Hero calls $5

Standard peel though villain is aggro so I excpect two if not three barrels and might step in something. His range is basically 100% of his opening range.
  • Turn ($16, 2 players)
  • d7
SB bets $13, Hero calls $13

Now here is a good card for his DB range imo. He will DB T9/98/87/65 & any FD as well as value hands.
  • River ($42, 2 players)
  • h2
SB bets $78.70, Hero calls $78.70

Now the leveling begins. My hand looks weak so is he OBJ to get a hero call or to fold me out? Given that I believe villain to hand read and DB a high % of his BD draws I confidently call knowing his value range is thin.
  • Final Pot: $199.40
  • SB shows
  • h7h8
  • Hero shows
  • s9hQ
  • Hero wins $196.40 (net +$96.70)
  • SB lost $99.70

Zoneage

Zoneage is what it be about. Working with Tony Robbins and just trying to find a good state for my play. As always there will be room for improvement but overall I stayed in the zone 80%+ of the time I played. Unfortunately the cards haven't smacked me in the face yet but I am waiting.
