Welcome

This is the home of my new positive thinking/poker blog. I will hit you with a daily quote of positivity as well as an update on my progress as I work my way through 200NL to 400NL and beyond. Today I had my 1st lesson with D2K which went superb. Though most of what Eric spoke to me about wasnt new it felt good to discuss poker with a winning player en route to improving my game.

Until recently I have been a pretty upbeat happy go lucky guy and as of late something has been missing. Thus along with poker I will be blogging about ways to improve our all around energy in hopes to make you and me and the world around us a better place. The main focus will be both positive thinking and poker, obviously. I will end this blog and every one from now on with a quote and a hand.

"The difference between can and cannot are only three letters. Three letters that determine your life's direction." Retrieve from here

I decided that rather then take a passive line preflop I was going to 3bet for value knowing villain would call with worse yet fold if he jammed. Having a plan in poker is key.

High...

on life! Wow, I bought her a ring, yeah thast right a ring. OK I didnt buy some super expensive engagement ring or anything but it was a way to tell the love of my life that she is just that. I know I have said it will never happen but you know what they say. Anyways life is fucking good! Poker is back on track due to my life gaining a sense of balance again. I have returned to meditation as well as shorter sessions at the tables. Today is Monday, a typical slow day at the tables, so I enjoyed the outdoors instead. Life is good!

Fresh start.

I cleaned my office out completely yesterday and it feels real nice to have a nice clean working environment. I am unsure if I told the world about my decision to hold off on Sonoma State and instead focus on beating poker. The simple fact is I love poker and everything it can provide for me and my family and I have little to no desire to return to school and obtain a degree which I have no real passion about. Therefore, though I did finally finish the JC and was excepted to Sonoma State for the fall semester I have decided to focus 100% on poker. I had a rough patch the last 2-3 months but it had alot to do with some bad habits which I picked back up and changes in my living environment. I am happy to say that my home environment is very stable now and I have shook the old habit and am feeling confident in my abiltiy to out think/ out play my opponents at the poker table. My plan is to work 30 hour work weeks M-F and enjoy my family in the evnings and on the weekends. Basically I am a working man just like everyone else except my job is playing a game I love. I always wanted to be an athlete, this is the next best thing.

3 Months

As you all know poker has been my job since last April and lately I have been struggling a bit. The reality is I have a family to support and a son whose future I want to be amazing. That said I am giving myself the next three months to prove that I have what it takes to make a living off poker. The alternative is basically joining a union and start working my way up. If that happens I am leaning towards becoming an electrician or sprinkler fitter. I f you have any thoughts on those please share.

I forgot!

I get to wake up and spend the 1st two hours of my day with my three year old son every morning. Without a shadow of a doubt this is the best time of my life, nothing beats it.

Bout time!

WOW! I have been under a lot of stress lately. The reason for the stress is ME! No one else. The only person responsible for how anyone else feels is themselves. Real hard fact to grasp in my opinion, yet very fucking true. Obviously my life has changed significantly over the last three months which has effected me obviously but I am the only one who can allow those changes to create negativity in my life. The simple fact is I am living the fucking dream and sometimes I forget it. I mean fuck not many people can say they are their own boss. Sitting in front of me as I write this I have a piece of paper called My Passion Test which I wrote out on 1/21/08. #1 on the list is Living with Veronica in our dream home raising our son. Half way there. #2 Enjoying a healthy lifestyle , overflowing with feel good energy. Definitely not there but on my way. #3 Playing poker for fun and finance. This one is debatable. The simple truth is I have the capacity to achieve all I want and more as do you and everyone else in this world who realizes it.

Stop dwelling on the way anyone else makes you feel and realize that its YOU feeling it, therefore you have the ability to feel differently. Take notice of what and how you feel and look for the good in everything. Feel great! I dont care if you have to carry a photo of a fucking puppy dog around and take it out and look at it every 5 seconds just find good feelings and dream big. Feel your dreams coming to fruition and they will. Stop dwelling on bullshit and lack of whatever it is you so desire. Start feeling success and prosperity and it will reveal itself. Stop looking and start feeling.

The sappy Noel is back watch out world.

Losing touch.

I used to be very spiritual and in tune with the energy around me. This has slowly slipped away and I cant explain it. The truth is to move to a higher conciousness takes constant practice. Meditation is key. Once I again I find myself no longer meditating and off track. Hopefully by the end of August my life will be somewhat routine which will allow me to bring meditation back into my daily practice. Also I have lacked any substantial reading. I used to read enlightening books daily now they rest on the shelve. I plan on changing this too.
