Ownage

Apparently there is someone whom I sit with just owns my soul though I dont know who that person is. TBh there are many solid regs at my stake who I avoid for lack of a better word. I play poker to make money and thats it. Not to prove I am better then my peers, not to show off my skills, not for any other reason than to make money in order to provide for my family. Once I get that through my thick skull it is quite easy to be wise and pick good tables and good situations and simply avoid tangling with solid players unless need be. In no way does this mean that you may run me over(Damagedmindz) or anyone else who thinks I am weak tight and wants to dance. Be warned that your leaks will be discovered and your code cracked.

I had a nice eye opening lesson with my coach today and it is obvious that what I have known to be a leak continues to be. Lack of hand reading. And to extend from there lack of applying hand reading in play. I feel like my reading abilities have improved dramatically but extracting from them and applying pressure/vbing is where I need dramatic improvement.

I lied, there is one other reason I play this sick and twisted game. That being that no one person will ever be as good at poker as they think they are which means there will never not be room to grow and improve. I can easily say that this year I have been increasingly lazy in reagrds to study and clearly have to change that to maximize my potential earn.

Back on track.

After my 1st session I screwed my head on and played good solid poker for the next 4 and ended up shipping a solid winning day. Scooped some nice pots and made some tight folds as well. I am trying to focus mainly on making a sound decision as to why I am opening preflop which lends itself to hand reading and better decisions on later streets. Also my pace has slowed dramatically which makes me feel more in control and less like a chimp clicking buttons.

WOW! Not sure how stoked I am on how I played this hand yet I love the results. The 3better was a good TAG who has been running me over and I was happily 4bet calling my stack off except the fish decides to cold call. The fish was a huge drooler playing 75/35 so his range is quite fucking wide given stacks. Problem is 4betting juts makes my hand look so strong and QQ becomes the bottom of my range almost. When he flats my 4bet I am stunned and am guessing he holds TT/JJ/AQs/AK. The flop seems like a no brainer bet/call though I am curious what other think.

I feel empty inside.

Wow poker is so grueling at times. I mean I just played a solid ass session where I managed to win 200BB in a limped pot only to tread water everywhere else and end up making one of my November -EV river hero calls. Lately it just feels like nothing is working. Its really just a case of variance and nothing to stress over but fuck me if I cant click fold when I know I am supposed to I will be busto before I know it.

The button on the left! Villain was 60/20 and playing wacko saw him M3B AJ and 1/2P,P,1/2P over 3 streets with air. Here he P,P,1/2P+ and I know in my soul I am beat but I just want to make a brilliant call in a big pot because like a fish I think he has AK. Thoughts on turn are appreciated. I felt like I have good implied odds given I hit a pair to go with my NFD and was priced in to peel the river.

Hello

my name is Noel and I'm an alcoholic. That aint a joke either, I sincerely have a drinking problem. Not the oh fuck that dude is a drunk kind but a wasting his potential could be making something of himself if he didnt drink kind. Now that doesnt mean I am never drinking again. Fuck no! It simply means I am done drinking for awhile, again. As of today I will be without sweet delicious beer till turkey day because I have too much work to get done.

As I stated yesterday this month has been a waste thus far due mainly to me. I should probably be up at least 10BI except I have been making the wrong choices. How can I fix that? It is quite simple actually. I must think while I play. If poker was easy none of us would be making any money. Truth be told poker is quite easy if you think! So my plan from today forward is to reply to 3 forum posts pre play and always review my marked hands after every session and post at least one either to the forums or here. I will also be writing up some key components to my success and be putting an emphasis on them during every session.

Lastly I am desperate to find a core group of grinders to discuss poker with and possibly swap sweats with. If you are playing poker for a living and want to talk poker hit me up on CR or 2+2 with a PM and let me know a bit about you and what not.

Here is a hand for those of you who got this far.

Turn I dont think I can fold but the river is an easy one. Basically I had seen this guy XR the turn when he hit a GS straight already and follow through on the river the same way. I was so emotionally attached to the fact I had made a set that when he potted the river I was like well maybe he has 76. Unfortunately combo wise I missed 53 and only though of 98. That being the case there are 16-98 combos and 9-76 combos. Now if you add in 16-53 combos its the easiest fold ever. Especially if he has any set too. The fact that I clicked call is so pathetic. How in gods name can I play this game to support a family and do shit like this? I cant.

No more!!!

So basically the last ten days have been a waste. I have played spewy tardtastic poker making dipshit call after dipshit bluff while riding an emotional rollercoaster. October ruled because I played solid as ABC soul owning poker without any emotional tie to the results of my hands. Basically I am lucky to be breakeven or near there after how terrible I have been performing at the tables and it is time to restart.

Here is to a new beginning. Currently I am buzzed from some good Nor Cal brew and wont be able to express exactly what I have planned but i will revisit the blog in the AM. If you are reading this and are Damagedmindz please ship me a PM on DC/CR/LP or 2+2.

This hand occured while posting this blog. I play 1 table while doing BS as it is +EV.

Take your time young man

Honestly when I am playing my worst I am acting fast and forgetting to stop and think about ranges. When I am owning it is the complete opposite. Anyways did get a few nice thin river VB in given the hero nature of all the tag fish out there.

Wanted to shout out to Damagedmindz if this is the blog you read. I have no chat on AP so that was the reason for no response. If you are a lurker reading my blog speak up. I want to know who you are.

So many heros.

Todays game is filled with bad fish who cant fold and even worse regs who cant fold. The theme will always be value bet, value bet, value bet. Today I forgot one of my golden rules of not trying to bluff these clowns. Twice I fired that 3rd barrel and got snapped off by some weak ass bluff catcher. Apparently my ranges arent balanced. Adjustment time.
