My 26th year.

Well leading up to my b-day I got some horrible stomach problem that has been plauging me, so that hasnt been fun. I have been on a strick diet of nothing sense my b-day trying to fight it. Also, what I really wanted for my b-day was a Warrior win, which didnt happen. But all in all I think it was one of my better birthdays. I had a rad weekend in Monterey with my lovely girlfriend who always tries her hardest to please me (not an easy task just ask her). As my followers are aware I have been dabling in playing online poker as my sole source of income and was on a nice up swing in May till I came unglued yesterday taking a negative 400 dollar loss. Today I bounced back and am only stuck 180 for the week. Poker is like life as there are highs and lows and the strong are able to fight through the bad times and come out ahead.

Now back to the topic. What do I want from my 26th year on Earth? This will be the year that I finally transfer my ass to a four year University, which one I dont know. Sonoma, San Jose, SF, maybe San Luis? I will be applying to several and make my decision when the time comes. Also, as crazy as this sounds I would like to purchase a home this year (not in Orville). I would like to continue my success in poker and work up the ranks to eventually playing 5-10NL by years end with a monthly income of 25000 plus or minus. {Side note this dude is up 500 thousand just this month off of poker, scroll down to the graph http://www.cardrunners.com/fusetalk/blog/index.cfm?forumid=25}. I will continue to refrain from heavy drinking and limit my intake to one or two at major social events. Maintain my health and fitness and reach happiness with my body image. Not that I look bad but I know I can look better. Continue to spend time with my girlfriend and her son and enjoy the fun that we have together. As well as continue to develop family traditions so that we can grow and bond. I know sappy. I expect a lot from this 26th year as you can see and know that everything I want and more is possible with a positive attitude and sheer determination. I forgot that I would also like to be driving a new truck. Brand new Tacoma to be exact.

In conclusion be on the lookout for big updates throughout the year. And may all that you dream of and aspire to achieve take form in your lives. Remember what your parents told you: "You can be anything you want." That shit is true, I believe. GO WARRIORS!!!

Quotes

Something to ponder. "A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone." Henry David Thoreau

For the poker players and skeptics. " Remember this. In order to reach the final tabble of a big tournament, its not enough to get paid off on your monster hands. At least once or twice during the event, you're going to have to come back from the dead." Dan Harrington

It just proves that no matter how great you are a little luck is needed. The more skill you have the less the luck factor is though. On that note I must continue to build my skill and my edge is that I am playing cash games instead of tournaments so even if I lose do to bad luck I am not out.

Gulp, gulp, I am drinking.

Here I sit at 10:31 PM on Tuesday night sipping away on a Negra Modelo. Um, good stuff. Well, not for long. I have vowed to quit. Yup! That is correct, ok well not completely. I will still enjoy a drink for a special occasion such as a wedding, concert, ball game, or any other event that is special. I know, I know sounds like the same old Noel but just wait. (This starts after May 13th so I can enjoy my B-day gosh dang it!)

Oh shit!!! I almost forgot about poker, syke! I have been in the green as of late and staying in the zone. I have stuck to daytime play and am ahead 438 for the week, not so bad for 5 1/2 hrs work. It is so amazing to me how much money there is to be had in the world of poker and gambling in general. Unfortunately most of the major cash is won by the casions and gambling institutions that are capable of taking advantage of the house edge. The beauty of poker is that even thought the house never loses the edge can be beat. Rather then playing against them I am in essence playing for them. They provide me the medium to extract money from the fish that swim in online poker rooms and in exchange I pay them a small percentage of my winnings. Not such a bad deal right?

Then there is school, where to start? Just joking, not so bad only taking two classes. I believe I am currently carrying either low A's or High B's in both my classes with a porject and two finals remaining. I plan on crushing my finals as well as the project and aces both. Thsi summer I will take two online courses and wrap up my sophmore years in the fall. Finally moving forwad to a four year college. So there you have it, my life in a nut shell. Expect more in the coming days. This is where I will lay out the plans for the road ahead. Thanks to my readers and if you are one of them please do comment it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Poker, the 1st week of May.

Away from the table I have been having a kickass time. My father and I have been at all three Warriors playoff games. What an experience. Basketball is in my opinion the funnest sport to watch in person that I have seen. I am yet to experience Hockey or Soccer. At the table has been a tough go of late. Total for the week I am ahead 163 bucks with three wins and two losses. So far it appears that I am a winner during the day and a loser at night. This could be due to lack of concentration or that I am fatigued from the long days. If you arent familiar with playing poker it is not easy. Actually there is a saying around the tables: "Its a hard way to make an easy living." This is true if you arent 100% focused and ready. I have found that I have been making too many mistakes which have cost me a substantial amount of profit. I have been making rushed decisions when I dont need to and I have at times let my emotions become involved. In order to succed it is necessary that I play almost like a robot, allowing no emotion to enter into my decision making and always processing every bit of information before moving forward. That concludes my 1st week at the tables and I look forward to a kickass weekend. Oscar or Mayweather?Who knows but one thing I do know is tomorrow is national margarita day, bottoms up.

WARRIORS!!!!

What a f-ing game last night. Amazing. These guys are for real. The Oracle Arena was amped but it didnt feel as electric as Friday night. Nothing is guarnteed as I still remember when my beloved Yankees were ahead 3 game to 0 and lost four straight to the Redsox. Anything is possible. I have tickets to game 6 if necessary but I dont want to go.

In my real life, that beuing school and poker, I have 3 weeks of class left and then finals. Yeah it is almost over but then I jump right into summer school which I will be taking via the internt. Played cards today for 3hrs netting 51 dollars profit which is like making 17 bucks an hour. Nothing great but I am still growing and developing. Also it is key to understand that I am playing at very low stakes and eventually plan on moving to higher stakes where there will be more money to be won and loss.

B&E is insane. It is like all of P-Town is intoxicated. If it wasnt for my afternoon power nap I think i would have been in big trouble. Well that is all for now.

WHY?

Why do we behave the way we do? Why is it that we consume substances that effect the way we behave? Sometimes I sit and wonder these things. Have you ever had a day where you felt like you were on top of the world? What about one of those days where nothing could go right? Are these truly happening or is it all in are insanely complex mind? At times it seems like life is so easy but then again it is. What is it we in truth need? Very little when you break it down. Of course what we want is a whole nother story. Why? Why do we desire the things we do? Is it all advertising and peer pressure that influences us and makes us crave? Do my 265 dollar jeans really look that much better then my 30 dollar pair? Does generic dish soap work as well as name brand? I think we will never know why, but this is what makes us human. We ask why?

Once upon a time...

I had promised to the world that I would be blogging daily, this was a promise I broke. I am not making any promises this time but stay tuned as I believe this will be an ongoing blog to keep me thinking about poker and the path I choose. If you know me you know I am card crazy and recently gave up my job dealing poker to concentrate 100 percent on playing poker on the internet while majoring in business. So far it hasnt been as easy as I thought but I have managed to turn 100 dollars into 1500 in a little less then two months only playing part time. Not bad right? In the month of May I plan on making 5000 in order to do this I will have to play a minimum of 35 hrs a week so I might not be out and about that much. If I disappear for too long please come check on me as I might be in a trance staring at my computer clicking my mouse non stop as I dominate four tables at a time playing 300-400 hands of poker per hour. Or I might be found at the gym obsessing about my body image. I hope to be weighing around 190 by June. Ok well sorry nothing real exciting today but I might rant later. I am off to the gym. GO WARRIORS!!!!!!!
